STERIS Group President joins Omeris Board
Omeris announced today that Charles Immel, senior vice president and group president of STERIS Corporation’s Healthcare division, has joined the organization’s Board of Trustees. Omeris is Ohio’s bioscience membership and development organization.
Mr. Immel is responsible for sales, marketing, manufacturing, development, and support functions for STERIS’s global healthcare business. This group has approximately $800 million in annual revenue and includes capital equipment, consumables, and service provided to hospital sterilization departments, operating theaters, and critical care departments.
A graduate of the Ohio State University, Mr. Immel joined STERIS Corporation in May 2001 as senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, and president, Commercial Operations. Before joining STERIS, he held the position of vice president and general manager of Baxter Healthcare Corporation’s Therapeutic Commercial Business in Europe (1998 to 2001). He also served Baxter Healthcare as vice president and general manager, Plasma Commercial Business; vice president, Global Marketing and Business Development, Recombinant Protein Business; and general manager, Japanese Biotechnology Business.
